This morning British Airways announced the courts have ruled in favor of Unite, the union representing the carrier’s cabin crew, and have overturned the injunction barring flight attendants from further strike action against the airline. Unite has stated it will not strike before May 24. Strike dates proposed by Unite include May 24-28, May 30-June 3 and June 5-9. Should the union strikes proceed, British Airways said it has put in place contingency plans to continue flying 60 percent of its long haul flights out of Heathrow and 50 percent of its short haul schedule out of Gatwick and London City. Flight information for May 24 – 28 has been posted on British Airway’s web site at www.ba.com, and flight detail for further strike periods will be posted as schedules and contingencies are determined.
